Office Updates Relating to COVID-19

1/11/22 Update

Thanks so much for hanging in there with us during this unprecedented time.  While we still have had no known COVID exposures in our office and we remain diligent with our safety protocols, this is not a time to give up on doing your part as well.  Many of you have called to reschedule when you have had a suspected exposure or a positive diagnosis and we can’t say THANK YOU enough!  We will always work hard to find a new convenient appointment time for you.  Also,  currently Guilford County does not have a mask mandate, although that may change soon.  Even so, please wear a mask into our offices regardless of your vaccination status.  We have many patients who are under the approved ages for vaccines/boosters or otherwise at high risk and as a health care facility it is still the CDC recommendation for masks.

We also realize that it is getting colder outside.   Officially, we are still asking for family members who do not have an appointment to wait outside in the car.  Our team will do its best to keep you up to date with progress either car-side in person or by text.  This of course does not apply to our first time visitors who need their favorite adult by their side.  We have re-opened our hot beverage station and if it helps, please feel free to pop in for a steaming coffee or hot chocolate to enjoy in your vehicle.

Here at Reynolds Orthodontics we couldn’t ask for better patients and we really appreciate your cooperation with everything!

We are so thankful to finally be in NC Phase 2.5! Since we reopened in May, we have had more than 4,000 appointments and with our additional safety protocols in place, we have safely seen our patients without any known COVID exposures.

Dentistry has long been diligent in safety protocols so the changes in our office to meet CDC guidelines were minimal, since we were already doing most of what was recommended. However, we have added additional measures to ensure an even greater level of safety for both our patients and our staff.

We are welcoming patients into our office (without having to call first from the parking lot), but we are still asking parents and siblings to remain in the car. Our assistants will update parents via text regarding their child’s appointment. As always, we welcome your call if you have questions or need further clarification.

05/22/20 Update:

Welcome to Phase 2!  I just wanted to give an update on how this will effect your visit to our office. As you know, the State of North Carolina is slowly opening up more areas of the business sector for public use.  This however does not appear to be a time for us to relax any of our guidelines for protecting our patients.  We will continue to follow the guidelines set by the CDC and American Dental Association.  This will continue to mean that we will need your COVID-19 questionnaires at each visit.   We will also continue to take temperatures prior to your visit and communicate with families waiting in the car remotely.

We have had a great first 2 weeks back with patients and we can’t say THANK YOU enough for all your cooperation and joyful smiles.  It has been a blessing to each of us to see you again and we are so excited to get back to making those smiles great!!!

5/11/20 Update:

We had a great day today and it was a joy to see so many of our patients in person!  Many of you were very supportive of our new protocols and procedures.  You all played a big part in the success of our safe reopening. Thank you!

We will continue to stay up to date with the latest guidelines from the CDC, ADA and the State of North Carolina on best practices to protect our patients and team while building amazing smiles.  For now, please keep filling out those COVID forms online before your appointment, brushing those teeth and smiling your best smile!

5/1/20 Update:

We are planning to begin seeing patients again on Monday, May 11! This is based upon guidance from the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the North Carolina State Dental Board, and the Governor of North Carolina.

We will contact you regarding rescheduling your appointment. We ask for your patience and will do the best we can to accommodate everyone’s requests but we have close to 500 patients to work in and will need to prioritize patients with the most urgent needs first. Many of you have been so gracious to work with us during this challenging time. Thank you!

While we have always been diligent in our infection control measures in the office, we will be implementing even more safety protocols to ensure your safety as well as that for our staff. More details on what this will look like for you will follow soon.

Please note: prior to entering the office all patients will need to complete and submit an informed consent to treatment, as well as a COVID questionnaire to help screen for possible symptoms. These online forms are available below:

If you are uncomfortable coming into the office for any reason, we are still offering virtual treatment options. If you wish to have a virtual appointment please follow the link and follow the steps to initiate those appointments:
